BOA VIAGEM, e divirta-se!
In
Rio you can not miss LAPA
Carioca da Gema
You can't miss the chance to see some of the
current greats of samba playing in this restaurant including Teresa Cristina and Moyseis Marques. I love the fact that you
can be on the dance floor doing the samba and the waiter comes around with a ice bucket of beers selling them. That made it
easy to decide. The groove inside this place is second to none.

See where ‘Garota de Ipanema' (Girl
from Ipanema) song was written
The song that was written by Vinícius de Moraes and António Carlos
Jobim in 1962 is widely thought to have been written in the Veloso bar, now called The Garota de Ipanema. Whether it was written
at the bar where the duo spent so much of their time or in their homes is open for debate. But what is true is that it was
the place of inspiration for the song becaus the young girl named Heloisa Eneida Menezes Paes Pinto who was 18 at the time
used to walk by the bar often to buy cigarettes for her mother accompanied by the whistles and cat calls of the guys inside
the bar. The bar has a nice mix of tourists and locals and if you want to see the exact table and chair where it might have
been written from the table is below a framed picture of the lyrics of the famous song next to the wall. Another photo opportunity
in Rio/ It is a lovely visit to the mecca of bossa nova and it still has a nice vibe of guys playing cards in the corner arguing
about their favorite soccer team.
